My relatives in Italy have a different kind of wealth

The kind where life itself is rich

✔️ Rich in history and culture.

✔️ Rich in fresh seasonal food prepared in the most delicious way.

✔️ Rich in traditions passed down from generation to generation.

✔️ Rich in friends, relationships.

I could go on with the many “riches”, but I’ve shared the lifestyle with travelers on my “Authentic Italy” lifestyle excursions.

Whenever we are close to Naples, I take them to a relative’s home.

I try to prepare them for seeing riches in a very different way.

I guess it’s hard to imagine but seeing is believing.

I knew immediately the group was hit with a mixture of surprises, humility and a reality that transformed their thoughts on living well.

The table was filled with homemade foods, hospitality, the southern Italian sun, their home surrounded by fields of produce, grapes and mountains.

Family members arrived to greet them and to welcome them.

And as I watched, I was reminded of this - while the travelers could afford anything they needed back home, this, you cannot buy.

You are either born into it, or you make it a reality wherever you are.
